Park of Mountain Guides
Park in the center of the village Nová Lesná, which prides itself not only with the title of “Village with the most beautiful view of the High Tatras”, but also the birthplace of mountain guides. Most mountain guides and rescuers in Slovakia come from this village. There are 15 benches in the shape of a climbing bracket in the park and each is dedicated to a specific personality, one of them has an engraved inscription “Thanks from those who survived”. You will also find wooden statues and a footbridge of John Paul II, who is the patron saint of the Mountain Rescue Service.
The park was inaugurated and consecrated in the summer of 2017.
