Mlynická dolina

Long before the settlement, the valley had been known by hunters, herbalists, miners and shepherds who had been making salt-licks for their herds. The name was later transferred to Soliskový hrebeň which encloses the valley from the west. Hrebeň bášt spur forms its boundary from the east and Štrbský štít rules above the closing of the valley. The name of the valley is derived from Mlynica brook, which used to power the mills in its lower reach. The valley is rich in natural beauty. It is rich in natural beauty. One of them is the famous Waterfall Skok, or lesser-known lakes such as Okrúhle, Capie, Kozie and Pleso nad Skokom. At the mouth of the valley lies the most visited Štrbské pleso. A commemorative plaque near the lake terrace of Capie pleso reminds of air rescuers who dies in 1979 in the ruins of a helicopter during rescue. A yellow hiking trail leads across the valley to the Waterfall Skok to Furkotská dolina.
