Chapel and Lake in Vyšné Hágy
The stone chapel full of thanksgiving was probably built by workers who worked on the construction of a large sanatorium and the first patients in 1938-41. The building includes a wooden cross and a number of monuments that give thanks for the healing and have been collected here for many years.
Near the chapel, there is also a small lake with an islet built under the same conditions with a diverted spring of the Malý Šum stream. At the lake, we find three benches and beautiful views of the High Tatras, especially Končistá.
The chapel and the lake can be found next to the National Institute in the direction of Štrbské Pleso along a 50-meter forest path that leads to a small bridge. You can cross the bridge to the chapel and turn right just before the bridge to the lake.
